President's Welcome Message

August 2008

Dear FWI Members and Friends:

I am very pleased to tell you about your new Board of Directors and the programs we are planning to help you Discover, Develop and Deliver in your personal and professional life.

Our first dinner meeting on October 2nd features life and career coach Ellen Moriarty presenting Five Obstacles that Get in Our Way and Five Ways to Beat Them.  Bring your manager to learn about the benefits of FWI to both you and your employer.  And if you would like to carpool, try out our new Ride Sharing forum!

In mid November we will have a breakfast meeting with the interactive workshop Achieving High Quality Results.  We are working on some special speakers for the spring of 2009 and will end the year with our June dinner meeting, presenting Initiative and Risk Taking.

I pleased to introduce your 2008 - 2009 Board of Directors

  • Mary Anne Abercrombie, Vice President
  • Laura Mozier, The Wilton Bank, Secretary
  • Frances Stratton, Treasurer
  • Melissa Mednick, The Wilton Bank, Board Advisor

A special welcome to our new board members, Doreen McManus of Fairfield County Bank and Susan Barrett.

Our thanks to Mary Jane (MJ) Paris for her leadership over the past two years as group president and to Michele Johnson for her many contributions as membership chair.

If you or someone you know would like to talk further about the benefits of FWI membership or participating on our board, please join us at our opening meeting in October, or contact me via email at lagabor@peoples.com.

Becoming involved in FWI brings rewards to both you and your employer, and the relationships you establish can last a lifetime!  We offer many resources that enhance the value of your membership, and we hope that you will take advantage of all that FWI has to offer.

Linda Gabor
President

About Our Group

Based in southwestern Connecticut, the Fairfield County FWI group includes members from a variety of organizations, including banking, insurance, information technology, and education.

We are pleased to be able to provide our members and guests with interesting and informative local programming on a variety of topics.  Visit our Events page for details on our upcoming offerings.  To view information on past events, go to the Event Archive.

As an FWI member, you can improve your professional and leadership skills through participation on our group’s board or committees.  You will have the opportunity to learn and practice skills such as strategic planning, event programming and public speaking in a safe and supportive environment.  We invite you to contact any of our Board Members to learn more.

Are you worth 58 cents a day?

That is the cost of FWI membership.  For a fraction of the price of a cup of coffee, you can take advantage of FWI’s high-quality programming, networking and leadership opportunities.

And now paying for your membership is even easier, with the option of monthly or quarterly billings to your credit card.

The FWI Membership page provides details on member benefits and how to join.  And visit the Progams page to learn more about the many education options available.
