2008 Celebrating Leadership Award
Congratulations are in order
for Miranda Fisher as the 2008 receipient
of the FWI Celebrating Leadership Award for
Each year the local board
selects a non-board member of Financial Women
International who has displayed a stand-out
performance and the qualities of leadership
locally. This is Miranda's first year as a
member of FWI and she has distinguished herself
by stepping forward to assume responsibility in
several areas.
Miranda assumed the
responsibility as Assistant to the
Treasurer, a new support position within
our group. Later in the year, when our elected
Treasurer had to step back, Miranda stepped up
to that challenge and kept us going. Her
involvement and commitment gave us the
depth of knowledge we needed in this vital area
to continue operation.
She co-chaired a
very successful fundraiser with the Annual
See's Candy Fundraiser in December, and
volunteered to assist by co-chairing a program
meeting. She has jumped in to help with
registration, greeting, and whatever else needs
to be done.
Miranda created an
information sheet on ChexSystems to use as a
training tool for our Financial Literacy
Classes, and presented that portion of the
class to the women at the YWCA Passages in
For the
coming year, Miranda has been elected to the
office of Vice President/Administration &
Helps....the title we've chosen because in this
position she has offered to help in any
capacity needed....membership , guest liaison,
treasury, programs, etc. This is the kind of
member all organizatons wish for....and we're
lucky enough to have her in Financial Women
International!
Miranda is employed at
Northern Trust as a Senior Banking
Officer.
Congratulations and Thank You,
Miranda! We're looking forward to
another dynamic year for
FWI-SD!

2006 Celebrating Leadership - Donna Burtch Donna Burtch is the Executive Assistant to the Vice Chairman and Chief Credit Officer of ITLA Capital Corporation which is headquartered in La Jolla. She has been a member of the San Diego Chapter of FWI since 1999. She says, staying involved in FWI continues to give me the chance to develop new skills professionally while enjoying and developing some truly wonderful friendships. For me, it's a great place to be! This past year, through her efforts in community outreach, Donna gave back more than the usual. She conducted an employee campaign at ITLA Capital that benefited Dress for Success and gathered financial support for Becky's House as well. Many heard of FWI for the first time! She collected more than 50 suits and outfits from her colleagues at ITLA to donate to Dress for Success. Her passion and commitment to FWI in terms of her willingness to step up, to risk and dream, and to lead are much appreciated. Congratulations Donna! |
