District of the Year

GoldenWest District

Led by Gini Craig

Gini and the GoldenWest District had a productive year with two great groups to support and lead.  Strong leadership teams were built through mentoring and involvement at the Group, District and Association levels.

New partnerships were forged with the California Bankers Association and the Risk Management Association over the past year providing interesting possibilities for a 2008 District Conference.  Consistent press releases gave both Groups increased visibility via local media channels and brought many new guests to meetings.

The Attitude:  Your Most Priceless Possession Group Program, was presented in both San Diego and Orange County by Lucy Jackson, Association Past President (1999-2000).  The program was very interactive and thought-provoking.

The District planned and facilitated the Paragon Circle Workshop Positive Risk, presented by Past Foundation Chair, Melissa Curzon.  Almost 50 Orange County and San Diego members attended; evaluations and feedback were excellent.  The GoldenWest District also participated in the Foundations Invest Campaign and is a member of the Paragon Circle.

Each year the District presents two "Celebrating Leadership" Awards.  The San Diego Group and Orange County Group Boards each chose a non-board member who demonstrates great leadership promise.  This year the honorees were Mique Kee of San Diego and Colleen Brady of Orange County.

New member recruitment was a huge accomplishment for the GoldenWest District.  At last count in mid-August, the GoldenWest District had 42 new members since September 1, 2006.  Congratulations to Gini Craig and the GoldenWest District.
