FWI Recongizes Partner in Success

Roseville, Minnesota – Award-winning speaker, consultant and leadership coach Kathy Gillen will receive this year’s Partner in Success award from Financial Women International (FWI). The award recognizes Gillen’s outstanding work as the facilitator of FWI’s monthly telephone seminars.
Gillen founded her company, The GillenGroup in Elk River, Minn., in 1989 after experiencing firsthand the benefits of having a performance coach. At that time, she was a successful executive who had little time left to spend with her husband and children. In three weeks, she learned techniques to reduce her workweek from 70 hours to 37 – and in the process, increased her billing rate by tenfold. She soon went back to school to become a coach herself. Since then, she has helped a range of clients – from individual entrepreneurs to major corporations – foster dynamic leadership, offer exceptional customer service, and create a “win-win culture.”
For the past four years, Gillen has led the planning and delivery of FWI’s TeleForum series. These one-hour distance learning programs are provided as a value-added service to FWI members and women in the financial services industry. Each month’s program focuses on a different, timely topic, such as sales dynamics, time management and succession planning.
“Kathy’s expertise and wisdom has become a ‘secret weapon’ for FWI members,” said FWI President Regina Barr, CEO of Red Ladder, Inc., in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota.
“Month after month, she delivers
no-nonsense advice that helps women in banking
and financial services become more effective at
what they do, which in turn helps their
companies move forward,” Barr continued.
