The Graduate School of Banking-Colorado (GSBC) Scholarship is offered by Financial Women International (FWI) to encourage women in the financial services industry to strive for achievement of their career goals, to help them gain the education necessary to achieve these goals, and to develop more role models for women in the industry.
Eligibility
- Candidates must be an officer of an FDIC-insured bank or savings institution with at least three years of experience in the banking industry or in a closely related financial field and hold a baccalaureate degree or compensating experience. Or, must be a state or federal institution regulatory official or bank director with an educational background and experience comparable to that required of bank officers.
- Candidates must have a recommendation from an executive officer of a taxable, financial institution or its holding companies, affiliates or regulatory agencies.
- Scholarship recipient must be a new GSBC student and attend the upcoming School Session for that year. (School sessions are held in July.)
Award
Community Scholarship: Recipient will receive a $1,100 discount from the regularly charged fees for each year of attendance at GSBC, funded by GSBC, for a total scholarship value of $3,300. This scholarship is non-transferable, and the recipient must matriculate into the GSBC program within one year of the date of the scholarship award. Candidates should complete the online application below and submit it to the FWI office no later than August 1, 2009.

*Scholarship winners will be notified by Sept. 1, 2009. If chosen as a scholarship recipient, you will need to provide FWI with your resume and a letter of recommendation from a banking officer.
